Ice Breaker / 2-Day Trips

Cryptozoology MuseumLooking for something fun to do this winter? Don't be fooled into believing that you need to leave Maine to find some interesting and exciting things to do. Camp and travel like a rock star with SWA in their 12 bunk entertainer coach! We will start our Ice Breaker trip by heading to Portland where we will visit the world's only International Cryptozoology Museum. Cryptozoology is the study of things hidden or unknown such as; Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Yeti - what could be more fun than that? Afterward we will have lunch before stretching our legs with a little afternoon ice skating at the Portland Ice Arena from 2:30 to 4:00. When we are ready, we will head back to the bus for some relaxation and dinner before the night's main attraction. At 7:00 we will watch the Portland Pirates hoPortland Piratesckey team take on the Springfield Falcons at the Cumberland County Civic Center! After the game we will retire to the bus and get a good nights sleep.

On Sunday morning we will make breakfast and then go to Mackworth Island State Park. Mackworth Island is just a short distance from Portland and was donated in 1946 to the State of Maine by Governor Percival Baxter. On the island we will snowshoe (or hike) the 1.25 mile perimeter trail which offers views of Casco Bay, its many islands as well as Portland and Falmouth. When we are finished we will have lunch before our journey back home.
